- Rain helped Oklahoma, but Arkansas got drier. Exceptional drought (D4) in Oklahoma fell from 16.6% to 7.2% of the state. In Arkansas it nearly tripled, from 6.6% to 19.4%. (US Drought Monitor)
- Calves are bringing more money. OKC West called steer calves $10 to $20 higher on Tuesday. Joplin had 8,057 head Monday. (USDA AMS)
- Wheat is running late in Oklahoma. It was 37% planted on Oct 18. The 5-year average is 59%. (USDA NASS)
- Burn bans: 146 Texas counties and 4 Oklahoma counties have one. Arkansas reported 50 counties on Oct 15.
- On the rodeo side: OHSRA and AHSRA Star City entries close Friday, Oct 23.
